Description
Buio is the Italian word for “darkness” because the olives directly after picking them don’t have any more contact the sunlight. The oil after the pressing process will be pumped directly in big stainless steel containers under strict absence of oxygen to make sure that the taste and the flavours will not get lost and to prevent the oxidation of the oil. Also our special bottle is UV shielded.
Taste: This extra virgin olive oil has a very fruity aroma and a light peppery note in the end.

Il Salotto, a winehouse with character
The story of Il Salotto finds its origins in the farmhouse hotel Klein Nederlo. Several years ago, Jelena Sakic, an Italian wine export manager and active in the Italian wine business for 20 years, stayed at Klein Nederlo, where she got talking to Lieven Walravens of Klein Nederlo, himself a passionate wine enthusiast.
A chance encounter led to a closer acquaintance, and acquaintances became partners. Partners in their love for one another, but also in their love for wine. Il Salotto was founded out of the love and above all the passion for Italian wines and other products from wine regions in Italy. We are proud on quality of our wines and on our close connection with the producers, that allows Il Salotto to sell only own import. We work exclusively with small-scale producers and sell only organic wines.
You can select and order wine from Il Salotto’s webshop, but are of course also more than welcome to visit our store for tailored wine advice and an enjoyable afternoon. Some of our wines are also served at Klein Nederlo.
